Bishop John Chapman honoured us with a visit to our parish on Sunday 25 April. His previous visit, shortly after his ordination as bishop, marked the beginning of our stewardship campaign. On this occasion he performed two tasks. The first was to administer the sacrament of Confirmation for five candidates; the second was to bless our sign.
Five parishioners have prayed and studied in
preparation for Confirmation. In his address to them, Bishop John reminded
them of the ancient apostolic tradition of the laying on of hands, which has
come down to us over the centuries within the Catholic faith since the time of
Christ. Those confirmed were
