The famous hootenanny known as the Last Night of the Proms was once again held at Saint Matthias' Church, and Saint James' as usual had the largest, not to say the loudest, contingent in the diocese. Let's just say it was the most enthusiastic (notice, in the photo on the previous page, all those sitting people in the background ... well, just sitting).
We started out with a meal in the Axeman's Pub. Menu? - just look below. The hall was bedecked with British and Canadian flags, and we were entertained by Garth Hampson, the genial and talented MC of the evening.
