Night of the Proms (cont'd) The main event was held in the church proper, where Garth was once again our MC. In a surprise move, we were entertained not only by the band and singers, but by Mr. Anthony J. Cary, the British High Commissioner, who gave us a spirited and comical rendition of 'Champagne Charlie'. Things heated up further upon the entrance of Britannia, complete with trident. As always, by the time we reached 'Land of Hope and Glory', all restraint was cast aside. The Saint James' crew once again sparkled (maybe not the right word, but anyway made a great deal of enthusiastic sound, accompanied by the waving of flags).
