The Parish of Saint James had the privilege of hosting the first Bishop's Levee of the new Millennium. The event took place on New Year's Day at Lauder Hall, Christ Church Cathedral. On the 31 December, a group of parishioners, mostly Altar Guild and ACW members, arrived to make sandwiches, to set up tables and chairs, and to decorate.
On the day itself, workers arrived from 10 am onwards for final
preparations.
